FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022
The FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ took place from November 20 to December 18, 2022. In the 22nd edition of the tournament, 32 teams participated in 64 matches.
Our responsibilities revolved around the planning and execution of all temporary infrastructure (overlays) at the iconic Lusail stadium for both, the internal security perimeter and the Last Mile areas. This encompassed setting up over 50 overlay areas along a perimeter spanning to several Kilometers around the stadium. These overlays were essential for various purposes, including broadcast, catering, logistics, security, transport, and last-mile activations.
The stadium, with an impressive capacity of nearly 90,000 spectators, hosted the majority of the significant matches, including the unforgettable final match between France and Argentina.
Our successful efforts culminated in an outstanding display of coordination and collaboration among the Supreme Committee & FIFA clients, stadium owners, delivery partners, suppliers, and spectators, contributing to making this World Cup one of the most memorable ever.
LIMA 2019 Pan-American and Para Pan-American Games
EveOve worked for the Lima 2019 Pan-American and Para Pan-American Games. This was a great-to-have-experienced challenge, which resulted in a much deeper knowledge of major sport event planning and operations. Our task started with work for the legacy strategy documents which included 4 pillars of work: social, economical, sports and infrastructure urban development which showed the importance of getting legacy strategies right and active way before the action starts to be able to have the greatest results for a city and country.
Following our work was focused on the overlays and temporary structure’s area leading the procurement consultancy team, working along the Head of Temporary Infrastructure and the Head of Overlay's Design, gave us valuable lessons for a better support of future organising committees and cities when developing procurement strategies, understanding the local supply chain, assessing the budget development and developing the technical documents needed to have a proper and cost-saving procurement process thus avoiding later claims or variations.
Finally our work included contract management consultancy for all overlay procurement packages negotiating and developing a process for the best contractor-client management.
Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games
Securing overlay and temporary infrastructure contracts in Brazil, with the first stop being the 2014 FIFA World Cup and then the Rio 2016 Olympics.
Our experience within the sports infrastructure industry, in both engineering and sales-facing roles, as well as our languages and cultural knowledge of the Latin American market proved invaluable for the challenge.
Our remit was to focus on the establishment of new strategic partnerships to secure projects for these 2 major sport events and of course – ultimately – to assist in the successful delivery of these projects.
We successfully delivered overlay contracts for the FIFA Confederations Cup 2013 and the FIFA World Cup 2014 in Brazil, for the inaugural Rio Open Tennis Championships, for the F1 in Brazil, for the Rio 2016 Test Events and finally for the Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Ultimately our role was to champion the use of temporary infrastructure at these events, and raise awareness of the sustainable and economical benefits this approach has for host cities and organisers alike.
ATP TENNIS OPEN RIO
Secured a 3-year contract for the provision, installation and maintenance of the 6’300 seat temporary stadium for the first ATP 500 tournament in the Americas.
Our scope included all installation and maintenance of the temporary stadium, modular event structures such as single, double and triple deck hospitality venues, scaffolding structures; screen supports, camera platforms, media towers and broadcast studios, wheelchair user platforms, cable and service bridges, etc.
